David took up showing cattle when he was in Year 8 at the College and joined the Cattle Club. The results have paid dividends since at age 18, he secured the grand champion led steer at the 2017 Brisbane Ekka with a 14-month old Limousin steer weighing in at 594 kg live weight. David has been climbing the ladder since Year 10, going to the Ekka and winning several prizes. He is now under the tutelage for a year with local icon Steve Hayward, a cattle judge, at his Allora property.
